Type 3 Barricade Origination
Where did the type 3 barricade come from? Well, there isn’t much information about when type 3 barricades were invented, but one would think that they were invented a few years after roadways were invented. Logically, after a few years of the road being invented one would think the traffic barricade would be invented.
Most likely the first barricade would be the type 1 barricade, because it is the most simple. The origination of many traffic barricade products is probably not known but it would be interesting to research,
Type 3 barricades…what?
Some people may not know exactly what type 3 barricades are. Well, first off what is a traffic barricade? A traffic barricade is commonly seen in towns blocking off roads or pot holes from cars. They can be either type 1, type 2 or type 3 barricades.
The type signifies how many boards it has. A type 3 barricade has 3 boards and typically blocks off roads that are under construction. Check out the picture above and next time you see one of those you will know it’s a type 3 barricade!
Type 3 Barricade Choices
There are a lot of choices when it comes to a type 3 barricade. For one, you have to choose the reflective sheeting. This can either be EG (engineer grade) DG (diamond grade), or HI (Hi intensity grade).
You can also choose the width of your barricades, which can range from 4 to 8 feet or even wider. Type 3 barricades also come in plywood or plastic, with plywood being more expensive to ship because it is heavier. There are a lot of options on a type 3 barricade, so always look around so that you know exactly what you want.
Type 3 Barricades Getting Good Prices
What’s the best way to shop around for type 3 barricades? Well, usually I would suggest just going to any price comparison tool such as Froogle and looking around on the internet, but a lot of these are bought through catalogs so it will take a bit more research.
First get an idea of exactly what you want, the width of the barricade, the reflective sheeting, plastic or plywood etc. Then type the specifics into google and go as far as 2 pages back to get and get the best price. After that
Type 3 Barricade Sheeting
There are many different brands of sheeting for traffic barricades or type 3 barricades, but 3M is probably the most common brand on type 3 barricades. There are also different grades of sheeting, with the most common being EG (Engineer Grade), DG (Diamond Grade), HI (HI intensity grade) as well as a few more.
Sheeting can add a lot of money onto the price of barricades, so it is usually recommended that you try and find the cheapest sheeting out there, and then apply your own to your barricades. Sometimes, for diamond grade, you can see a $50 increase in price between diamond and engineer grade for type 3 barricades.
