For one, it could be that they already have barricade feet from other barricades that are broken.  Another reason could be that they are planning on mounting the barricade or permanently placing it somewhere.  There are many options for type iii barricades, so always ask your dealer.

The UV rating of reflective tape can usually be measured and all you have to do is find out who manufactures the tape, and ask they can give you a document explaining the UV rating.  Though the document can be hard to understand, it is important to look into it if it is a job requirement.

type 3 barricade, type 3 barricades, type III barricade, type III barricades, traffic barricade, traffic barricadesLast week I posted a type III traffic barricade piece about different options that make a good type 3 barricade.  I left off on the type of paint that you should look for (weather resistant baked enamel) if you want your barricade to be used for awhile.  Most barricades, especially type III, are made to accept two barricade lights on each side, but just in case, check to make sure your brand does.

For easy transportation, make sure your barricades can be joined together.  Wind stability is also important, what good is a barricade if its tipped over?  There should also be many options for reflective tape quality, if they don’t have the type your state or country requires, try looking somewhere else.

traffic barricade

There are many different types of type III traffic barricades, many different brands, and many different options.  But before purchasing your barricade, try and find out some of these details to make sure you have a quality product.  Make sure the barricade is NCHRP-350 approved, this is a way of making sure it lives up to regulation standards.

When someone buys traffic safety equipment, they usually don’t use it for that long.  That doesn’t mean that some uses aren’t long though, so making sure your product will last can be important.  Try to make sure the paint is good, weather resistant baked enamel paint is some of the best.  Next week we will blog more about type III barricades, so look for a type 3 barricade post coming soon.
